How do I create a fertilization plan in the Web Portal?

Add a soil sample and yield estimate so Farmable can prepare an initial fertilization proposal for your field within the Web Portal.

Written by Enja Matthee

TL;DR: Go to Tools → Fertilization plan, select the correct season, and add a soil sample and yield estimate for the field. Farmable uses the available field data to prepare an initial proposal for you to review and approve.

What do I need before I start?

Each field needs:

  • a soil sample; and

  • a yield estimate for the selected season.

Farmable also analyses historical data and other records linked to the field when preparing the proposal.

Start a fertilization plan

1. Open Tools → Fertilization plan.

2. Check the Season in the top-right corner.

3. Find the field you want to plan.

4. Fields that are not ready will show what information is missing, such as:

  • Soil sample is missing; or

  • No yield estimate.

Add a soil sample

1. Select Add soil sample.

2. Choose the relevant field and add the requested soil-sample information.

3. Save the soil sample.

The sample will be linked to the selected field and used when preparing its fertilization proposal.

Add a yield estimate

1. Select Add next to No yield estimate for the field.

2. Enter the Start date.

3. Enter the Total time in weeks.

4. Enter the Estimated total amount in kilograms.

5. Select Save.

Review the fertilization proposal

Once the required information is available, Farmable can prepare an initial fertilization proposal using the field's soil sample, yield estimate, historical data, and other Farmable records.

You will be asked to review and approve the proposal before proceeding.
