TL;DR: Open Tools → Husdyrnæringsstoffer, choose Normtall or Mass balance, add your livestock, check the Nutrients totals, then review Manure quantity or select Save year summary.

Husdyrnæringsstoffer calculates expected annual kg phosphorus (P) and kg nitrogen (N) from your livestock manure. It is a documentation aid, not legal advice. Farmable is not legally required to provide it.

The page is available on Norway farms in the Web Portal, under Tools, next to Fertilization plan.

1. Go to Tools → Husdyrnæringsstoffer.

2. Select the season year at the top of the page.

3. Under Choose method, open Method and select Normtall or Mass balance:

4. Turn Subtract ammonia loss on or off. It is on by default. If you turn it off, type a reason in the field Reason for turning ammonia loss off.

1. Under Select animals, choose Species / class and Count.

2. Select Add species for another line.

3. Select Edit on a line for optional adjustments:

4. With Mass balance selected, enter kg P, kg N and kg N after NH₃ on each line.

1. Under Nutrients, check Total kg phosphorus (P), Total kg nitrogen (N), and kg N after ammonia loss for the farm and year.

2. Select Save year summary. The summary is stored in this browser on this computer, per farm and calendar year. Other browsers, other computers, and other members of the farm do not see it. Clearing site data in the browser removes it.

3. When you return to the page and select the same year, the saved summary loads again. If you change year or farm with unsaved edits, the portal asks you to confirm and discards the edits.

1. Under Manure quantity (badge Advisory), review estimated total amount (tonnes), estimated volume (m³), and average N % · P %. The estimates are derived from your nutrient totals and the NIBIO content per tonne. They are advisory and not forskriftsfestet.

2. Open Show breakdown by species for the per-species list.

3. To change the NIBIO figures behind the estimate, go back to Select animals, select Edit on the line and use Override nutrient content.

You see this section only when the farm has Farmable Pro and your role is Owner, Manager or Farmable admin. There is one button per manure type.
​

1. Choose Crop category, enter the Application rate, and pick the Unit (default kg/ha).

2. Select Create fertiliser product in inventory. The portal creates a fertiliser product with N and P content and books a zero-cost purchase in NOK, with the amount driven by phosphorus.

3. If the product for that manure type and season already has stock, the button reads Register. Select it and confirm to update the stock to the current calculated kilograms. No new product is created. A new calendar year creates a new product.

Tip: You need a crop on a field before you can register. If the farm has no field with a crop, the button stays disabled with the message Add a crop on a field first.

1. Select Download year summary for a CSV of the year summary. The file contains one row per animal line and a totals row, and reflects what is on screen, saved or not.

2. Open the file with Data → From Text/CSV in Excel and choose UTF-8 so Norwegian letters display correctly.

Official CSV or PDF export to the Norwegian authority is not part of this tool.

Is this the same as Fertilization plan?

No. Fertilization plan uses soil samples and AI recommendations. Husdyrnæringsstoffer calculates P and N from livestock manure.

Is this the same as Gjødselregisteret sludge reporting?

No. This page is a calculator and year summary. It does not submit sludge reports to Gjødselregisteret.

Do I need Farmable Pro?

Opening the calculator, saving the year summary and downloading the CSV do not require Farmable Pro. Registering a fertiliser product into inventory needs Farmable Pro and the Owner, Manager or Farmable admin role. Advisors and Crew members do not see the register section.

Can I use this on a farm outside Norway?

No. The page is for Norway farms only.
