The Farmable glossary

New to Farmable? Here’s a quick explanation of the most important terms you’ll see in the app and web portal.

Farms, fields and blocks

  • Farm – A complete farm business or location in Farmable.

  • Field – A specific production unit within a field (e.g. a variety or planting) on your farm, often defined by physical boundaries. All jobs and records are linked at the field level to give accurate reporting.


Roles on your farm

  • Farm Owner – Owns the farm in Farmable, has full control over settings, billing and members.

  • Farm Manager – Manages day-to-day operations, jobs and team access for the farm.

  • Advisor – External agronomist/consultant who can view farm data and suggest jobs.

  • Crew – Field worker who sees assigned jobs and records work done in the app.


Jobs & job planner

  • Job – Any task to be done or already completed on the farm, such as spraying, fertilising, harvesting, mowing, or scouting.

  • Job planner – The calendar-like view you use to plan and schedule jobs over time.


Spray & fertiliser terms

  • Spray job – A job where you apply plant protection products or foliar nutrients.

  • Fertiliser job – A job where you apply solid fertiliser (kg).

  • Fertigation/Irrigation job – A job where you apply water or liquid fertiliser.

  • Tank mix – The combination of products, water volume and rates used for a job.

  • Product and Treatment library – Your list of products, including application rates and compliance information, used to populate spray and fertiliser jobs.


Logs and records

  • Spray log – The complete list of all spray jobs, with all recorded details (products, rates, weather, operator, etc.).

  • Fertiliser log – The list of all fertiliser jobs.

  • Fertigation/Irrigation log – The list of all fertigation/irrigation jobs.

  • Harvest log – The list of all harvest jobs and quantities recorded per field/block.


Harvest & traceability

  • Harvest job – A job created to capture harvest activity for a block or field.

  • Harvest label – A label generated from Farmable that links a harvested bin or unit back to its source block and harvest date, improving traceability.


Notes & scouting

  • Monitoring note – An observation from the field, usually about pests, diseases, crop development or issues needing attention. Used for scouting.

  • AI Note – A feature in Farmable Pro that uses scouting information and farm details recorded in the app.

  • Note – Any other observations that need to be noted.


Web portal & reports

  • Web portal – The browser-based interface at my.farmable.tech where you can view logs, create reports and manage product libraries.

  • Report – A PDF, XLS file generated from Farmable to share with auditors, buyers or internal stakeholders.


Multi-farm & advisor terms

  • Farmable Enterprise – Farmable’s solution for businesses managing multiple farms, cooperatives and advisors.

  • Partner / Advisor – Agronomists, consultants or organisations that connect to one or more farms to share recommendations and view reports.
